Ruby by the Bay is the west coast edition of Ruby for Good, an annual event based out of the DC-metro area where Ruby programmers from all over the globe get together for a long weekend to build projects that help our communities. In 2020 the event will take place at virtual in the internet, California. Participants stay in on-site dorms; hacking and socializing takes place in communal areas. Have you always thought to yourself "Self, I rock—and I should lead something!” Well here's your chance! We have lots of great projects and we need great people to lead them! Leading a team entails connecting with stakeholders, initial architecting, planning out project milestones, and keeping your team moving forward. Indicate your willingness when you register and we’ll be in touch!

On a related note, we couldn’t successfully organize Ruby for Good without amazing volunteer team leads. Once again a huge thanks for all the hard work put in by last year’s leads!
Bring yourself, your laptop, and whatever you plan on wearing. Lodging consists of shared bunkrooms - please bring your own linens (towels, sheets, blankets, and pillows). $50 - $150, all-inclusive. Registration includes room, three meals a day, and snacks! The stunning views and soothing ocean sounds come free with the site. We are a break-even operation; all funds go toward paying for the event! If you'd like to chip in a little extra, that will be put to support our scholarship recipients and to make the event more fun and productive.
You’ll spend dinner the first day meeting with your team, chatting about your projects, and getting your environments aligned. We’ve found the event is most successful, with the most buy-in, when teams are a cohesive bunch from the beginning.
